Alana Johnson, Sprouts & Acorns Assistant
I have a unique background, having been born in Las Vegas and growing up partly there and partly in Houston. Since 2017, I have lived in Richmond, TX, where my husband and I welcomed our first son. We now have three boys aged 8, 6, and 3—two of whom will be attending Shady Oak again this year.
In 2019, my mom encouraged me to tour Shady Oak, and we have been nestled in their community for the past two years. Following the loss of my mother in 2021, Shady Oak has served as a vital anchor for me and my family during a time of profound change.
The 2025-2026 school year represents a full-circle moment for me as I begin my role as Teacher's Aid to both the Acorns and Sprouts classrooms. Through my journey of loss, I have discovered a purpose in nurturing the early childhood years with my children, and I am inspired to extend the same care to yours.
I am eager to collaborate with the Acorns and Sprouts teams to create a gleaming, curiosity-driven environment where each child can flourish! In my spare time you can find me: having a family living room dance party, doing yoga/pilates, battling in a nerf gun war, being outdoors, or crafting.
