I was first introduced to Shady Oak in the spring of 2021, while looking for a pre-k program for our daughter.  After speaking with parents and touring the school, I realized that the philosophies practiced at Shady Oak fully aligned with our belief system at home. 

I began teaching preschool in 2002 and continued through 2009 when I made a shift in career paths to enter the music and entertainment industry.  In 2017, my husband, Phil, and I welcomed our daughter, Yana, into the world and I made the decision to stop working and raise her at home.

After enrolling Yana at Shady Oak, I began to feel a pull to get back into the wonderful world of Early Childhood Ed.  To secure that feeling, Joyce asked if I’d be interested in being added to the substitute list…  And, here we are 

I am originally from outside Toronto, Canada but lived in the Indianapolis, IN area for the latter part of my childhood.  We have been in the Houston area since 2015.  We have a 4-year-old Boston Terrier named Ozzy and also foster Boston Terriers a few times a year.  I love to travel, ski, ice skate, dance, chalk paint and pretty much do anything that lets my creative juices flow.
